Pastors’ Conference
by Rev: Francis ~ January 22nd, 2007. Filed under: News.I had a wonderful time of ministry in the Davanagere districts yesterday at ‘Pastors conference.’ There were about 20 pastors two women attended this conference. In this Taluq there are about 24 Christian workers, out that 20 attended. All of them are first generation Christians. Some of them have accepted the Lord ten years ago, five years ago and three years ago. Christianity has come to this area may be about ten years ago only. This is a strong Hindu dominated area. However, the gospel has penetrated in this taluq to these young people at different timings. There are from different village from the same taluq. The manifestation of the gospel was powerful in this area, due to that they not only accepted the Lord but they eventually became a channel of the gospel to their own people. God is using them to reach their own community (Lingayat). Now all these 20 pastors have pioneered 20 churches in 20 villages and also have in an average of 30-40 new believers. Not only that, most of these pastors have got piece of Land to build church in their respective villages. These are the villages have not even seen the church till now. Now they are all in desire to build church in their villages.
Most of these pastors did not go to Bible College to learn about the Bible. However, they keep on evangelizing to their people from whatever they know. I am impressed with these pastors. I had been to this place four month ago trying to bring them together. As a result of my previous visit now they have decided to meet together once in a month for prayer and get together. I am glad that the Lord is using me to encourage them, nurture them and connect them together. Please pray that these 20 villages will have 20 churches built in one or two years time soon.
On the other hand they face torture, persecution from their own village and community. Some time opposition is so strong. They are put to shame in the community, harassment and threats from their old religion. Hence, please pray that they will stand strong in the Lord at all situations. Two pastors were always with as I enter the meeting place, because expected disturbance from local people any time. Thank God I did encounter the mob this time.
I have planned a Family Seminar for these 20 pastors on March 5th 2007. Please pray that these families be enriched through the upcoming Seminar.
There are many new Generation Christians in the state of Karnataka and India who need timely care and encouragement
