Report of March and April 09

March 7: Women’s Conference at SAIACS: Women’s conference was organized by Indian Leadership. Mrs. Guna Akka and Mrs. Antonia worked hard for this conference. It was a successful conference on leadership. We had over 40 participants in this conference.
March 9-10: Urban Pastors’ Seminar: We conducted Urban Pastors’ Seminar for about 100 pastors only at India Campus Crusade, Bangalore. Dr. Chris Gnanaken and Dr. Wendler were the main resource persons for this conference. This seminar was conducted equip pastors to do effective evangelism through your local churches.
March 11-12: Rural Pastors’ Seminar: I conducted another seminar for rural pastors. For this we invited pastors from different parts of Karnataka. This seminar also went on very well. Dr. Chris Gnanaken and Dr. Wendler were the resource persons in this conference. Purpose of this conference was to encourage rural pastors in the ministry.
April 4: I attended SAIACS graduation service and congratulated the friends who completed their theological studies. It was such a blessed time to meet friends and witness their graduation. I met many of my teachers and organizational leaders as well.
April 6-10: Preaching at CSI Hudson Memorial Church Bangalore during the Passion Week. I mentioned about Harsha anna in one of the sermons. YMCA general secretary came to see me after the service and he spoke about Harsha anna. He said Harsha anna and he were colleagues for 15 years it seems. It was nice meeting with Harsha anna’s friend in the church.
April 13-14: Visit to Chitradurga to teach on the first manual for half a day. A group of 10 persons where some work in the Govt. offices and others have their own business and so on. They are pretty interested in studying the word of God.
April 13-14: Visit to Shimoga to teach from the manuals. I spent time with the Pastor John Basko and ten of his church members who are under going Bible training. I did teach one session on the first manual. Many groups find hard to follow the manual number one. When I teach from that book, then they like it and find interesting and follow the book.
April 15-16: Two days Family Conference for 35 pastors and their wives and 25 unmarried pastors. Dr. Sukrutraj who is the leader of Gulbarga district pastors who are working with Campus Crusade for Christ. He brought 35 pastors wit their families to Bangalore. I ministered to these pastors and also gave them Indian Leadership Calendars and introduced BTCP training to these pastors of north Karnataka.
April 18-19: Visit to Chennai: I visited Pastor D. Mohan’s church and their Bible School in Chennai. I also met Rev. Sampathkumar who is the academic dean of the Bible school there. He was very happy to speak to me, because he was my contemporary in SAIACS as well. I also stayed with Pastor Renny Samule who is a good friend of us to refresh our fellowship.
April 25-26: Visit to Belgaum to teach and spend time with the new group in Belgaum. This is an interested group having good potential having hunger for the word of God. They set aside a full day to learn together on 26th. They also contributed and arranged the food for the fellowship lunch and tea. I was happy to spend time with them in teaching this manual for a day, then they continue further in the manuals.
April 27-30 Visit to Bellary: This visit was basically to spend time with my wife Smitha’s parents. We had not been to their home after the delivery; hence we set aside three days at least to spend with them. However, I also had time to visit a one pastor who is having BTCP training in his church. I could not visit another group in the town since I find it difficult go out side due to high temperature may be about 45 degrees.
However, the month of April was very productive for ministry.
