Some pictures of our Baby

 Dear friends,

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Here is second desert journey of ours. On Monday (2nd March, 2009) we went to the hospital for Scanning, which was due. Scan report showed slight swelling in the heart of the baby. Our doctor (Gynecologist) after consulting with pediatrician asked Smitha to get admitted immediately as there is some difficulty for the baby inside.  On 3rd March 2009 evening doctor opted for C-section as they could treat the baby out side the womb than inside.  Three times refusing C-section we lastly agreed for it, hoping something good thing will happen this time.

However, on Tuesday evening at 6 pm Smitha was taken into operation theatre for the C-section. We had been praying for a miracle baby to have a safe delivery right in front of the operation theatre along with others. Baby was taken to the NICU as soon as he came out of the operation theatre. Baby was stable at that point of time; hence the doctors said that baby would make it.

Doctors conducted test on the baby for sugar, breathing rate and other things and found out that baby was producing high amount of acidosis. They tried giving some base medicine hoping acidosis would reduce or stop. For their surprise baby could not stop producing acidosis rather it was increasing badly. Doctor could not really understand from which part of the body the acidosis was producing.  They did not detect whether acidosis is making the heart to pump low or low pumping of the heart is generating the acidosis. Wednesday morning I went in side the NICU began to pray for the baby. While the baby was in the mother’s womb, Smitha was singing a song “Our God is so big so strong and so mighty, there is nothing that God cannot do,” baby would move. I kept on singing the same song in the NICU expecting the baby to move. To my surprise baby did show up few movements. My faith increased and I thought baby would make it.  However, by Wednesday 2 pm baby breathed his last.

Doctors have taken blood samples to study and find out if there is any genetic match in the baby. This report might come in a week or two. This can help in the next pregnancy. Two minor genetic matches can make a major and affect the child.  Girl babies can with stand any genetic match it seems.

However, baby also did not grow between 8th to 9th months. Till end of 7Th month baby’s growth was fine, but at the end of 8th month baby weight was 1.75 kilogram instead of being 2 to 2.2 kilogram.

Even before Smitha conceived we spent lots of time in prayer and then we met the doctor for consultation. The reason is we did not want to loose the baby this time. We went to a better hospital compared to previous time, given the better medical care and so on. Many people, friends, pastors, prayer groups were formed to intercede for the baby to survive ever since he was born. God showed a lovely baby and quickly snatched him from our hands. We really do not understand the ways of the Lord for taking us through this   tough journey. My wife is scattered, broken and filled with tears. Please pray that we may forget the former days and look for the later days. Smitha and I thank you for your prayers, encouragement, support, phone calls, text messages, Emails and so on. This makes us feel that we have majority of people around us who care and pray for us we are not alone. We believe one day the Lord will turn our mourning into dancing. We are Abraham’s generation.

Thank you for your prayers, care and concern towards us. We request you to continue to pray for us that we will come out of these both physical and mental wounds.

Regards
