Report of January
by Rev: Francis ~ February 4th, 2009. Filed under: Resource.
I have traveled a lot in Karnataka in the month of January at the beginning of New Year for the glory of God. Here is a little summary of my visit.
January 4: visit to Kanakapur (Ramanagar district). I had a very joyful and at the same tensed New Year service in this Reach Village India Ministries. We had two services, one in English between 8 to 10 am and Kannada from 10 to 1 pm. Over 100 people attended the service. First service went on well, but in the second service we had a disturbance. A man walked into the church while I was preaching and shouted saying, “close the church soon. However, I didn’t stop preaching, and eventually we concluded the service at the appointed time. Every thing was in God’s control completely. In this church I have started a new Bible study center with five members.
January 5: Visit to Bangarpet in Kolar district. There were about 27 pastors had gathered for the monthly pastors’ meeting. I presented and promoted BTCP to them. Some of them came forward to get to know this training and asked me questions right in the meeting. Four pastors have ordered set of books to have look at them and see whether they can use them in their church. I see a positive response from these pastors towards BTCP training. A pastor called me asking for 15 sets of books to start a Bible study group in his church.
Meeting with two key Nazarene pastors: I also met two key Nazarene pastors who are aware of BTCP training. In fact one pastor and teacher Rev. Christudas appreciated the Manual #10 which he has used in his teaching in the Bible School.
January 7: Visited SAIACS: I met few teachers including the principal and gave them Indian Leadership calendars and requested them to pray for our ministry.
January 11: I taught Reformation History from BTCP manual #9 to a group of students who are professionals. This is a talented, potential mature group who are working in the market place yet have a big heart for the Lord. I spent entire day with this group on 11th January.
January 11- 12: I traveled to Shimoga to start BTCP training. Pastor Harish called me to start training both for his pastors and active believers. Through his church we have about 25 students registered for Bible training. Pastor Harish needs our prayers as he is getting disturbance to run the ministry. Now in Shimoga we have more than three centers.
January 17-18: Travel to Belgaum. I spoke in Pastor Anad D’soza’s church. After the service I met with a BTCP students in the church and had discussion with them. Five persons including the pastor and the elder are undergoing this training.
In the late afternoon I met another group of seven families and spoke in their Bible study. I spoke about Bible training to this group. Now this group seems to be getting ready to undergo Bible training soon. Mr. Kishan is leading this group.
January 25: Preaching at Hudson Memorial church. This is a largest Kannada church in Bangalore. Rev. Alvin invited me to speak on 25th January in their main service. I also introduced the ministry of BTCP. My wife Smitha set up the Indian Leadership Calendars for sale out the church. This has helped in making people of this church to know about ministry of Indian Leadership. I believe that people would surely remember to pray for our ministry.
January 26: We had a Republic day celebration at the Bible College. We celebrated republic day in the Columbia Asia hospital as we had an appointment with the doctor.
January 27: Visit to SAIACS to meet faculty that I had missed earlier. Now many of the teachers and staff of SAIACS are aware of the ministry of BTCP.
Dr. Chris Gnanaken has a manual #10 to review. After the review if he recommends, then he is going to use in 10 Asian countries where he is going to be in charge.
January 30: Visiting Southern Asia Bible College: Met Dr. David Clarence who is my teacher and the head of doctoral program. I presented him a calendar and an information pamphlet about BTCP training.
January 31: Meeting with Mission organization called “FORMATION” to present BTCP training. I presented BTCP training, objective, results, effects and importance of this training. The director of ‘FORMATION’ saw BTCP manuals along with bro. Thomas PM. It was a very critical and meaningful discussion I had with them. After two hours of meeting with them, they have shown some interest towards this training. They are interested in the training and investing and imparting a quality teaching. Bro. Philip Cheriayan seems to have a big heart for Karnataka. It was such a joy in meeting with this man of God.
